Prediction puts Qatar World Cup spend at $170 billion - 11th Nov 2011

QATAR will spend around $170bn on hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022, according to German legal and financial adviser Dr Nicola Ritter, it was reported in The Peninsula.
Ritter said $48bn would be spent on building air-conditioned stadiums, $77bn on creating facilities to accommodate the crowds of spectators and players, and $45bn on developing the Lusail, a new city development north of Doha.
