John Butcher (Editor)

John has been a journalist for more than fifteen years and worked on global financial publications for the last ten in Dubai, London, New York and Beijing.

He began working on financial magazines as a reporter on International Investment before moving to become a reporter and then news editor on Hedge Funds Review. He moved from there to become editor of Islamic Investor International and later editor of HFM Week.

He worked in Beijing for three years as an editorial consultant for the Beijing Review and was previously editor of Mena Fund Manager.

John’s work has also appeared in The Sunday Telegraph, Harvard Business Review, Risk Magazine, Islamicfinancehub and The South China Morning Post, among other publications.

Paddy Gourlay (Journalist)

Paddy is a former oil broker, oil market analyst and Dow Jones editor with more than a decade of financial journalism experience. He has also worked on publications covering carbon trading and insurance.

Malcolm Greenwood (head of sales)

Malcolm has been in sales for more than 30 years. He worked for Orange PCS for 18 years, latterly as national account manager, and was instrumental in the growth of broadband Internet across the UK. Before joining Orange PCS he worked for 13 years at other blue chip companies including Philips CE, Pye CE and Sanyo CE.

Anna Philips (head of production)

Anna has worked in print production and design for a number of years since graduating from university. Her work, which has included newspaper and magazine design, has been well received. She laid out MENA Fund Review’s sample edition, which is available on request.

Peter McCready (Journalist)

Peter has over 12 years’ experience in journalism and has written for a wide variety of financial publications including Investment Week, Money Marketing and Financial Express. He has primarily commentated on the financial and natural resources sectors holding senior editorial roles on leading trade and consumer titles. Career highlights include appointments as features and supplements editor on Mining Journal, editor of Mining Environmental Management and editor of International Custody and Fund Administration.
